OBITUARY
6 MR A. T. EMERSON PA WELLINGTON, Nov. 14. The death • is announced of Mr Albert T Emerson, aged 76, a former superintendent- of police Mr Emerson joined the Police Force at Invercargill in 1892 and came to Wellington as senior ' sergeant in 1916. He was appointed inspector in charge of Whangarei in 1921 and returned to Wellington as superintendent in 1926. He retired from the position in 1936 He was keenly interested in sport. He bad. played Rugby in Hokitika and Wellington and he was also interested in rowing, tennis, and bowling.
