BOROVANSKY BALLET

WILLIAMSON ATTRACTION On Monday morning at the D.I.C. the box plans will be opened for the whole of J. C. Williamson's Borovansky Ballet season, which begins on Saturday night next. The first programme of ballets which is to be presented for four nights and a matinee on Wednesday, November 26, will comprise “ Les Sylphldes,” with music by Chopin, " Coppelia,” with music by Delibes, and “ Le Beau Danube,” with music by Johann Strauss. The second programme of ballets to be staged on Thursday and Friday, November 27 and 28, will comprise “ Carnaval,” “ Giselle ” and " Capriccio Italien,” and the third, on Saturday afternoon and evening and the following four nights, with an additional matinee on Wednesday, December 3, will consist of " The Swan Lake,” with music by Tschaikowsky, “Spectre de la Rose,” “Scheherazade ” and “ Minuit Au Bal.” The last two nights of the season will witness representations of “ Concerto," “ Terra Australis,” " Sigrid ” and " L’AmOur Ridicule.” Tamara Tchinarova, Serge BouslofF and Edouard Borovansky visited New Zealand with the famous Monte Carlo Russian Ballet, and the young Australian ballerina. Kathleen Gorham, will make her initial appearance here. Edna Busse, Martin Rubinstein, Phyllis Kennedy, Joan Potter, Janet Wilkie, Vassalie Trunoff and Alfred Ross were members of the Borovansky Ballet which toured New Zealand just on three years ago, and Leon Kellaway will make his initial appearance.
