Mrs Wilfred Aitken and her sister, Mrs Tucker, have returned from a trip to Auckland. Mr Arnold Goodwin and some members of his company were guests of honour at a morning tea given by Mrs J. The November meeting of the Play Reading and Musical Circle of St. Philomena’s Ex-pupils’ Association was held in the college on Tuesday evening. The present pupils provided the following programme:—ltems by the college choir; a piano solo, Gayno r Garrett: vocal solo, Frances Montague; piano duet, Margaret Cliff and Helen Ford; recitation, Margaret O’Neill; marching ballet. Frances Montague, Patricia Falconer, Patricia Ryan. Olga Rowlands, Marilyn Matheson; and a Norwegian dance, Betty Webber. At the conclusion of the programme present and ex-pupils joined in a dance, which was won by Pauline Heenan and Denise McLaughlin. Supper was served by the ex-pupils
