Exemption Sought For Local Body Funds From Monopoly Insurance Parliamentary Reporter WELLINGTON, Nov. 13. Representations on the question of exempting local bodies operating accident funds from the monopoly provisions of the Workers' Compensation Amendment Bill have been made to the Minister of Labour, Mr McLagan, by Mr P. G. Connolly, M.P. for Dunedin Central, who has asked that an amendment be inserted in the Bill to allow such bodies as the Dunedin City Council to operate the fund which it pioneered in 1918. The council, he said, had no objection to the payment of the increased benefits provided for in the Bill.
