THE WEATHER
FAIR TO CLOUDY The following official weather forecast, covering the ensuing 24 hours, was issued yesterday by the Meteorological Office in Wellington:— Situation.—A depression lies northeast of the North Island, and an anticyclone extends on to New Zealand. Forecast to 5 p.m. To-day.—Mode-rate variable winds. Weather fair to cloudy and mild. Further Outlook. —Fair. Weather in Dunedin.—After a fine, clear day, during which the sun shone for 7 hours 48 minutes, the sky 'over Dunedin yesterday became overcast. There was a north-east breeze, the maximum temperature being 66.1 degrees, the minimum 48.9 degrees, and the grass minimum 44.5 degrees. No rain was recorded. The barometric pressure rose sligntly during the day, and at rnianight it was 30.15 inches (1021 millibars).
