WHO TOOK THE BUS?
A TRANSPORT MYSTERY If inquiries which are being made by the Dunedin police lead to the solution of a mystery which is at present a subject of speculation in transport circles, one or more persons may eventually face the unusual charge of converting a bus to their own use. The circumstances are that, when a Corporation bus was seen unattended at Wakari on Saturday night, the Transport Department was informed, and subsequent inquiries revealed that no one had been given authority to remove it from its parking place in the vicinity of the tram sheds. While it seems to be clearly established that the bus was unlawfully used, the main point which appears to be exercising the curiosity of tramway employees is whether the vehicle \vas appropriated by a single offender, who had no special preferences with respect to comfort or manoeuvrability, or whether it was used by a party too large to be accommodated in any other type of vehicle.
