Sir,—So many requests have been received from all parts of Ithe worM for the words of this toast that I am ven turing to send you the text m the hope that vou may be able to spare a few Indus of space in the Daily Times for it Should you set your way to do so, its appearance would, I am sure, be wel cjc.ied by your numerous Scottish readers, particularly those who observe St. Andrew's and Burns’ . mchts.-Onyway. there’s nae hairm in spierin .— I am. eic.. Murdoch Maclean. Mr Maclean’s own composition, the toast reads:— Here’s to it! The fighting shden of it. The yellow, the green of it, The white, the blue of it. The swing, the hue of it. The dark, the red of it. Every thread of it! The fair have sighed for it The brave have died for it, Foernen sought for it, Heroes fought for it. . Honour the name of it, Drink to the fame of it— THE TARTAN!
