THE WEATHER
FAIR TO FINE The following official weather forecast covering the ensuing 24 hours, was issued yesterday by the Meteorological Office m Wellington:— Situation.—A depression lies east of New Zealand and an anti-cyclone extends on to New Zealand from tne Tasman Sea. Forecast to 5 p.m. To-day.—Moder-ate south-west winds with a few isolated showers, hut weather becoming fair to fine. Temperatures cold. Further Outlook. —Fine. Weather in Dunedin.—Overcast conditions prevailed in Dunedin yesterday, light rain falling in the morning, and although it cleared in the afternoon, rain again set in at night. For the 24-hour period ended at 9.30 a.m. the amount of rain recorded was 0.03 in. The maximum temperature was 51.6 deg., the minimum 50.5 deg. and the grass, minimum 48.9 deg. There was a the” south-west. The barometer rose in the afternoon, the midnight reading being 29.92 inches (1013 millibars).
