ALMOST FORGOTTEN
SIGNIFICANCE OF ARMISTICE DAY
OBSERVANCE IN SYDNEY Rec. 11 p.m. SYDNEY, Nov. 11. Though some flags flew to-day. Armistice Day passed almost unnoticed in Sydney. Those who remembered did so in the noise of traffic. At 11 a.m. fewer than 30 people gathered at the Cenotaph in Martin place. Of the number of people approached by a representative only half knew the significance of the day. A similar lack of interest was noticed during last Sunday which was observed by the churches as a day of remembrance.
