NELLE SCANLAN’S LATEST
Kit Carmichael. By Nelle M. Scanlan. Whitcombe and Tombs. 10s 6d. In her latest novel, Kit Carmichael, Miss Nelle Scanlan forsakes the Pencarrows and the New Zealand scene, and returns to the London with which she is equally familiar. It is, however, to some extent, still a “family” novel in that it deals with the lives of a group of young people who find a mutual meeting place in the home of their aunt, who takes her position seriously as head of the family. In this she is ably reinforced by her tyrannical cook, Lottie. They are a lively and amiable set of people, and their romances and misfortunes make up a tale which will be entirely acceptable to Miss Scanlan’s faithful followers
