PERSONAL
The Mayor (Mr A. H. Allen) and Mr J, J. Marlow (Mayor of St. Kilda) left by the through express yesterday for Wellington to attend a meeting of the National Patriotic Council. Colonel Sir Hugh Acland, of Christchurch. is at present on a visit to Dunedin. Mr J. A. Hanan. M.L.C.. and Mr T, F. Doyle, M.L.C., and Messrs P. Neilson. J. W. Munro, and J. A. Roy, M.P.’s, left for Wellington by the through express yesterday. Messrs J. McG. Wilkie, engineer of the Otago Harbour Board, and D. E. S. Mason, engineer of the Bluff Harbour Board, were passengers for Wellington by the through express yesterday. Mr S. W. Caspar, national president of the A.S.R.S., left for Wellington by the through express yesterday to attend a meeting of the National Superannuation Board.
South-bound passengers by the Union Airways plane yesterday were Miss M, Hussey from Wellington and Mrs W, A, Boucher from Palmerston North. North-bound passengers were: Miss M. Melville for Christchurch, and Mr H. Powell, Mr A. Clifford Brown, and Mrs A. Brown for Wellington.
