OBITUARY

MR THOMAS SNOW The death occurred on "Saturday of Mr Thomas Snow, of Invercargill, after a short illness. He had lived in the city for five years and had taken a prominent part in bowling and other sporting activities. Mr Snow retired from the service ot the New Zealand Railways eight years ago. his last position with the department being that of land officer at Wellington, which beheld for seven years. After spending three years at Temuka, he took up residence in Invercargill. He is survived by his widow and a daughter. Miss Patricia Snow, and a son Mr Charles Snow. Mr Snow was probably best known in Otago and Southland as a sportsman. He was a keen angler and an enthusiastic bowler. In the latter sport he was a leading member of the Northend Bowling Club, and in the last few seasons he took a prominent part m tournament play. Two years ago .he was a member of a Northend rink which competed in the record New Zealand championship tournament at Auckland. His successes include wins *t the Rotorua and Wellington tournaments. the Champion Pairs at the Miller’s Flat tournament, and the Rink Championship of the Northend Club last season. He was a member of the Hataitai Club (Wellington) for several years.
