BY-ELECTION POLL LIKELY (Per United Press Association) ; , NAPIER, Oct. 81 The indications are that a poll will be necessary to fill the Waipawa vacancy. The Labour Party has decided that if the Nationalist Party nominates Sergeant J. D. Ormond a Labour soldier will be nominated against him; and if a resident of New Zealand stands as a Nationalist, Labour will nominate a civilian as opponent. . . - While this is not an official announcement, it is understood to be.a true statement of the position.
