AIR RAID DAMAGE

THE SALVATION ARMY BUILDINGS IN LONDON (Special to Daily Times) WELLINGTON, Oct. 8. A despatch received by Lieutenantcommissioner J. Evan Smith, of the Salvation Army, from International Headquarters in London, says that 104 Salvation Army properties have so far been damaged or destroyed in air raids on Great Britain. They include hails, officers’ quarters, naval and military homes, slum posts, and. a number of men’s and women’s social hostels and homes. The Army's first headquarters, which have been lately used as a men's social institution, have been damaged, so' badly that they have had to be evacuated. The premises of the famous West End corps have also been evacuated, the hall being heavily damaged. Meetings are being held in the London Polytechnic.
