INTOXICATED MOTORIST

COLLISION WITH ANOTHER CAR SENTENCED TO PRISON TERM (Per United Press Association) AUCKLAND. Oct. 8. ■ A sentence of seven days’ imprisonment was imposed by Mr J. Morling, S.M.. on Vincent Price, aged 51, a coal merchant, for intoxication while in charge of a motor car on the Blockhouse Bay road last night. The police stated that Price’s car was pursued after it had collided witn another car, and Price was taken to the police station, where a doctor certified intoxication. Defending counsel said it was a borderline case, and suggested a fine. The magistrate also cancelled the defendant’s licence for a year.
