SUBVERSIVE PROPAGANDA

TO THE EDITOR Sir, —At last something definite has come to light regarding Fifth Columnist work in New Zealand. The outcry that was raised by some of your correspondents when the H.S.A. took up this matter was. to say the least of it. verv much like a smoke screen to hide the Fifth Column activities. Certainly the bomb has been released in Christchurch, but. make no error, we still have the same class in our midst in Dunedin, and it behoves every lover of freedom and democracy to be up and doing to rid the country of this pest. I can hear someone say “ Oh, it is only a few irresponsibles who are connected with this business," but just consider the work entailed in compiling a letter of the kind and add essing the thousands of envelopes that are required, and it is very obvious that the job was not done by a few. The list of names was published in the newspapers on Thursday, and bv Sunday these circulars were being distributed. The R.S.A. in bringing this matter before the public has only done its dutv. and I am sure the great majority of the people of this city are wholeheartedly with it in this matter. —I am, etc.. Sixth Columnist.
