FAIR AND COOL Forecast for Otago. —The following official weather forecast for Otago, covering the ensuing 24 hours, was Issued at 5 p.m. yesterday by the Meteorological Office in Wellington:— Moderate southerly winds. Weather fair and cool. Seas moderate. Dominion Forecast. —A weak depression is located to the south-east of New Zealand, while a secondary disturbance is developing near the west- coast of the- South Island. Pressure is high to the north and over south-eastern Australia. Weather rather unsettled over the South Island, with scattered rain, but improving from the south during the night and becoming fair to fine at first over the North Island, but . fain developing in the Taranaki and Wellington provinces with the southerly change. Temperatures becoming cooler, with frosts at night in the south. Weather in Dunedin. —Dull and overcast weather, with some showers in the morning, was. experienced in Dunedin yesterday. There was a light southerly breeze and the maximum temperature was 59 degrees. The barometer rose slowly to 30.10 inches (1019 millibars) at midnight. Barometer, inches and millibars: 8 a.m., 29.90, (1012); noon, 29.94 (1014); 6 p.m., 30.00 (1016); midnight, 30.10 (1019).
Thermometer: 8 a.m., 50 degrees; noon, 58 degrees; 6 p.m., 48 degrees; midnight. 42 degrees. Maximum, 59 degrees: minimum, 46:degrees. Rainfall for 24 hours ended midnight yesterday—.2lin. Sunshine for 24 hours ended midnight yesterday: Before noon, nil; after noon, nil.
