DUNEDIN GUN CLUE

A shoot was held on the Dunedin Gun Club’s grounds at Green Island on Saturday afternoon. The conditions were good. In the first match, a 15-blrd handicap shot on the five-track system, the following five competitors broke 14 birds each: —S. F. Aburn (13yds), all first barrels: H. W. Brookes (13yds); W. Moreland (13yds); J. K. Begg (12yds); and P. E. Wood (14yds). They were followed by E. P. Graham (19yds), S. Geddes (14yds), Dr Greenslade (15yds), and D. Davy (11yds), 13; G. E. Turner (17yds), R McDonald (19yds), D. Ralston (13yds). 12. The next match, which was also a 15-bird handicap, was won by R. McDonald, with a possible, off 18yds. S. F. Aburn (14yds). J. K. Begg (13yds), and W. Elliott (19yds) all broke 14; S. Geddes (14yds). H. W. Brookes (14yds). P. E. Wood (15yds), D. Ralston (13yds), and D Davy (11yds) broke 13. A double-rise match of five pairs was won by G. E. Turner, with nine breaks. W. R. Morland and R. McDonald tied for second place with eight breaks each. To give members practice for the Otago Championship, which will be held on the club's grounds on November 2, a 10-bird match was shot off the 18 yards mark. E. P. Graham, R. McDonald, and W. Elliott registered possibles, H W. Brookes and S. Geddes broke nine, and R. A. Burgess and G. E. Turner broke eight. Mr W. R. Morland was the referee.
