ONE NORTH, ONE SOUTH PASSING IN MID-AIR TO-DAY PROGRESS OF PACIFIC FLIGHTS (Special to Daily Times) AUCKLAND Ocl. 7. Two Pan-American Airways’ Clippers operating ia the Pacific service should pass in mid-air to-morrow somewhere between Canton Island and Honolulu for the first time on this route. The Honolulu Clipper, which left Auckland on Friday, travelled to-day from Noumea to Canton Island. The flight began at 6.25 a.m., New Zealand time, at which hour the California Clipper which left San Francisco on Saturday, reached Honolulu on its south-bound flight. It is due at Auckland on Thursday under the command of Captain Cluthe, Who was last here in the same machine in August. The passengers for Auckland will include Mr Victor A. Kropff, Pacific divisional traffic manager of, PanAmerican Airways, who is accompanied by Mrs Kropff, Mr Walter Nobs, a meteorologist of the company, Mrs P. Delany and Miss Michele Delany, the wife and daughter of Mr P. Delany, traffic manager for the company at Auckland, Mr Theodore Gregory and Mr Geoffrey Morton. The special representative m New Zealand for Pan-American Airways, Mr Harold Gatty, will return by the Clipper from Noumea. He will be accompanied by Mrs Gatty and their three sons. Alan. Lindsay and Ronald, who have been absent on holiday tor over a month.
