SIDEY CUP COMPETITION The annual contest for the Sidey Cup between the Cavershain and Civil Service Harrier Clubs was held at the University Ova) on Saturday afternoon. The programme of 13 events included six races, three tumps, and four throwing competitions. and no man was allowed to compete more than once The best performances in the field events were P. Thompson’s 40ft 4in in the Hop Step and Jump. L K. White's 19ft 4in in the Broad Jump and the 121 ft 9Jin recorded bv G. Byers in the Javelin Throw The Civil Service colts spread-eagled the opposition in (he Relay. Early in the afternoon Civil Service secured a lead in points, and tile team, was two points in front with half the programme completed.
