CAR OVERTURNS

THREE PEOPLE INJURED A FORTUNATE ESCAPE Three occupants of a motor car that overturned after striking a power pole at the corner of Union and George streets last evening had a lucky escape from serious injury. All three were admit'ed to the Dunedin Hosoital at 6.45 suffering from abrasions and concussion. The injured were Edmond Godso, a young married mam and Ann Godso his wife, who reside at The Chateau. Tongariro. and Rita Godso. a young girl living at Campbell s Cottage, Anderson’s Bay. Mr Godso was driving a car north along George street when he saw another car approaching up Union street. Endeavouring to avoid the other vehicle. Godso swerved round into upper Union street, but was unable to negotiate the corner, and (he car struck a power pole and overturned. All three occupants were taken to hospital. The car was extensively damaged.
