OFF TO BERLIN.—This is the scene at dozens of bomber stations in Britain every evening. Bombers of all sizes take off and roar away on their nightly excursions to Germany and German-occupied territory. These machines are heavy bombers, not fast in the modern acceptance of the word, but capable of carrying huge loads of bombs deep into Germany and returning before dawn. The planes are Armstrong Whitworth Whitleys.
