LEGION OF FRONTIERSMEN
DETACHMENT FORMED AT BENHAR Last Saturday a meeting was held in Benhar with the object of forming a branch of the Legion of Frontiersmen. At the invitation of the convener a detachment from the Dunedin Squadron was present, and Captain Lamg addressed the meeting. He stated the aims and objects of the organisation and gave an interesting address on its history. At present his squadron was carrying on with training to fit in with the duties of the Home Guard. Several applications for membership were received and it was decided to form a troop at Benhar. A branch of the Women's Auxiliary Corps was also formed. It was hoped that most of the activities of the Dunedin Corps might be undertaken at Benhar Lectures in first aid. home nursing and A.R.P. together with voluntary sewing for the Red Cross and for refugee children should be of interest and value to the women of Benhar and district.
