BUCKINGHAM PALACE
Buckingham Palace was originally built in 1703 by a Dutchman for a British nobleman. In 1751 George 111 bought it, and George IV had it redesigned by the famous architect Nash. Queen Victoria added the Great Ballroom in 1846; and the whole front was altered in 1913. Behind the building are wonderful grounds: on a winding lake in times of peace ,ply. the Royal barges manned by the King’s watermen. The chief, the Royal Bargemaster. has to attend the Crown wherever it goes.
