The meeting of the Cambrian branch was held on Wednesday at the home of Mrs J. D. Enright. Mrs F C. Morgan being in the chair. Knitted squares were handed in to be made up into cot covers for the homeless or refugees, and also a number of knitted garments for the Navy League. A competition given by Mrs Kerr was won bv Mrs Mee and Mrs Morgan. v * The Cromwell branch held its monthly meeting on Thursday last, Mrs Radford presiding and welcoming one new member. The roll call was “A motto.” A competition, “Article made from a sugar bag.” resulted: Mrs R. Ritchie and Mrs Anderson (equal) 1, Mrs Anderson, sen., 3. Afterwards the articles were sold for the Soldiers’ Parcels Fund. Mrs Ward gave a short talk on a trip to Auckland and the return by aeroplane, and Mrs Webber spoke on a visit to Rotorua. The hostesses were Mesdames Anderson, Paul, and T. Smith.
