CONVICTED IN TOKIO

SEVEN BRITISH SUBJECTS ALLEGED VIOLATION OF LAW TOKIO, Sept. 30. Ten Britons who have been under arrest since September 27 have been indicted on charges of violation of the militai’y secrets protection law and the naval and criminal codes of the military resources protection law, while several others are being examined. One Japanese has been indicted and 50 others warned on account of their pro-British activities. The indicted Britons include Captain Charles H. James and Messrs George A. James, Ernest W. James, Michael Linger, Hamish McNaughton, Henry Blyth, John Drummond, William T. Charles, and T. B. Willey A later message stated that seven of the 10 Britons were convicted, and the sentences will be announced later.
