FIGURES FOR SEPTEMBER FAIR RATE BEING MAINTAINED •V The fact that considering all the difficulties, of the times, building in Dunedin is being maintained at a very fair rate is revealed in the city building figures for September and for the sixmonths period ended on September 30 The month’s figures represent an increase of £SOOO bn those for August, although they are naturally Well below the total for September of last year. Seventy-five permits were granted in September and the value was £40,549 compared with 59 permits to the value of £35,536 in August and 81 permits to the value of £51,589 in September of 1939. The total value of permits granted in the six months ended on September 30 was £189,722, compared with £340.549 for the same period last year
