ST. KILDA COUNCIL

FORTNIGHTLY MEETING The fortnightly meeting of the St. Kilda Borough Council was held last night and was attended by the Mayor (Mr J. J. Marlow) and Crs N. D. Anderson, G. Glue, R. S. Brent, T. B. D. Roy, J. C. Cherry. J. H. Hinton, E. Longworth, H. H Johnson and W. Rutherford. Financial The Finance Committee reported that the receipts for the past fortnight had amounted to £3399 2s lOd. The bank account stood in credit at £2724 14s 9d. Accounts amounting to £3161 18s 6d were recommended for payment. The report was adopted. Departmental Reports The traffic inspector (Mr F. T. De Largey) reported that for the fortnight ended September 28 six motor driver licences had been issued. The plumber (Mr A. N. Shepperd) reported that he had repaired 10 water bursts for the fortnight ended September 28, A report was also submitted bv the works foreman (Mr J. C. Clyma). The reports were adopted. Water Consumption The water consumption for the past fortnight was reported at 2,540,000 gallons, at a cost of £IOO 10s lOd, For the previous fortnight the cost was £9l 16s Bd. Donation It was decided to make a grant of sgs to the local branch of the New Zealand Crippled Children Society. Kaitangata Coal always gives satis-faction-obtainable from all coal merchants. —Advt.
