DAILY INTERCESSION

We have heard with our ears, O God, our fathers have told us what work Thou didst in their days, in the days of old. Through Thee will we push down our adversaries; through Thy name will we tread them under that rise against us. For I will not trust in my bow, neither shall my sword save me. But Thou hast saved us from our adversaries, and hast put to shame them that hate us. In God have we made our boast all the day long, and we will give thanks unto Thy Name for ever. Rise up for our help and redeem us for Thy loving kindness’ sake (Psalm xliv). We come unto our father’s God, their Rock is our salvation. God of our fathers, be the God of their succeeding race. In their days of crisis they cried unto Thee and Thou didst hear; they put their trust in Thee and were not put to shame. Give to us, we pray, the strength and comfort of patience, and grant us that heavenly calmness that comes from trust in Thy purpose and obedience to Thy holy will: through Jesus Christ our Lord.
