ACTION TAKEN IN EIRE Passages in broadcasts made on the previous Sunday by Cardinal Hinsley, Archbishop of Westminster, were suppressed by the Eire censor on August 5. according to a report published by the Daily Herald (London) on August 6. “The broadcasts were to the forces and to America, and it,is believed they were censored because they related to the war,” the paper states. “At Archbishop’s House, Westminster, the Daily Herald was told; ‘ Nothing at all has been heard of the matter hei'e.’ “In his broadcasts the cardinal declared: ‘For me neutrality of heart is impossible in this struggle.’ He attacked the Nazi creed of all-conquer-ing racialism.” , .
