VOLUNTARY SAVING
GREATER EFFORTS URGED (British Official Wireless) RUGBY, Sept. 25. (Received Sept. 26, at 7 p.m.) Lord Stamp, speaking at Bristol, praised the result of voluntary saving, but urged still greater efforts. Nearly everyone now was having a very hard time and the civilian copulation was in the front line. The ordinary man's contribution to winning the war must be threefold, " hard work, hard nerves, hard living."
