TEMPERATURES BECOMING COOLER Forecast for Otago.—The following official weather forecast for Otago. covering the ensuing 24 hours, was issued at 5 p.m. yesterday by the Meteorological Office in Wellington:— A change to moderate southwesterly to southerly windsWeather cloudy to overcast, with scattered rain extending from the west. Temperatures becoming cooler. Seas moderate. Dominion Forecast.—A belt of high pressure extends from Queensland to beyond the North Island. A weak disturbance is advancing across the Tasman Sea, : the lowest pressure being well to the south. Weather mainlv fair and mild. Unsettled, however, in western districts of the South Island, and showers later extending to Southland and Otago with the south-westerly change. Patches of fog likely again at night on the Canterbury and Marlborough coasts. Weather in Dunedin.—The sky was overcast yesterday and there was a slight south-east breeze. There was rain during the afternoon and evening. Temperatures were cool, the maximum being 54 degrees and the barometer fell a little to 30.00 inches (1016 millibars) at midnight. Barometer, inches and millibars: 8 a.m., 30.45 (1018); noon. 30.04 (1018); 6 p.m., 30.01 (1016); midnight. 30.00 (1016). ■ - Thermometer: 8 a.m.. 49 degrees; noon, 51 degrees; 8 p.m., 49 degrees; midnight 47 degrees.
