THE BALLOT

RAPID PROGRESS MADE POSSIBILITY OF COMPLETION TO-DAY (Per United Press Association) WELLINGTON, Sept. 25. Such good progress was made to-day with the ballot for men for the territorial service now being drawn in Wellington that it is hoped to complete the draw to-morrow. On the first day, yesterday, 4800 names were drawn from the register for the Auckland, Paeroa, and Whangarei districts. Today, the entire quotas for the Hamilton. Wellington. Wanganui, and Napier areas, numbering 5650 men, were drawn. If this rate is maintained, there is a possibility that the draw will be completed to-morrow afternoon. There are apnroximately 5550 more names to be drawn, mostly from the Southern Military District.
