PATCHES OF FOG LIKELY Forecast for Otago. —The following official weather forecast for Otago, covering the ensuing 24 hours, was issued at 5 p.m. yesterday by the Meteorological Office in Wellington:— Moderate' to fresh westerlies about Foveaux Strait, but winds otherwise light to moderate _ and variable. Weather mainly fair to fine and mild. Some showers, however in the south and patches of fog on the east coast. Seas slight north of Nugget Point, elsewhere moderate. Dominion Forecast. —A weak disturbance is located in the north Tasman Sea, but otherwise pressure is high from New South Wales to beyond the North Island. Weather continuing fine in the east and north. Rather cloudy from Taranaki southwards, with some isolated drizzle or light rain. Mild temperatures. Patches of coastal fog forming during the night, more especially on the east coast of the South Island. Weather in Dunedin.— There was bright sunshine yesterday morning, but a cool breeze from the north-east prevailed in the afternoon and the sky became overcast. Temperatures were mild in the morning, the maximum being 58 degrees, but were cooler later. The barometer fell slightly to 30.05 inches (1018 millibars). Barometer, inches and millibars: 8 C.m.. 30.15 (1021); noon. 30.14 (1021); 6 p.m.. 30.10 (1019); midnight. 30.05 (1018).
