RIFLE SHOOTING
DUNEDIN DEFENCE CLUB The Dunedin Defence Ride Club bold its annual meeting on Monday, the deputy president, Mr J. T. Gillan, being in the chair. There were n members present. As the season promised to be a difficuji one. it was decided to hold the club’s shoots every second Saturday, starting from November 2. Captain A. J. Cowie spoke of the high 'steem in which the retiring president, Mr W. Bannernian, was held by all riflemen. Mr Bannerman had held the office for 15 years. Rifleman C. J Gamble was elected president. Rifleman J. L. Benfell vice-presi-dent. and Rifleman R. J McKeich secretary. The club decide., to travel to Waikouaiti on October 5 to have a shoot with the Waikouaiti Club on its opening day
