DUNEDIN FRENCH CLUB

The greater part of Monday evening's meeting of the Dunedin French Club was spent in reading the principal scenes of a modern play, " Knock," by Romains, the story of the exploits of a French country doctor. Miss V. M. Barron directed the proceedings, and most of those present took part in the actual reading. The remainder of the time was, spent in inspecting and discussing a set of pictures of life in Indo-China— modern Buddhist idols and temples, the traditional IndoChina ballet, native types, big-game hunting, and the wonderful sculpture and architecture of Angkor Vat. Mme. Connor moved a vote of thanks to Miss Barron and the other members who had helped provide the evening's entertainment, and this was carried.
