GOOD PRICES FOR SHEEP CATTLE SLIGHTLY EASIER (Per United Press Association) INVERCARGILL, Sept. 24. Several trucks of outstanding wethers were a feature of the fat sheep yarding at the Lorneville stock sale to-day. Th-s market was again buoyant, values showing an increase of from 4s to 6s a head. An outstanding pen of four prime heavy wethers made 60s, while others brought from 50s to 565, with others from 40s. Prime medium weight wethers brought from 38s to 435, and lighter from 32s to 355. Prime heavy ewes realised from 40s to 425, prime medium weight 35s to 375, lighter from 28s to 30s, and unfinished from 24s to 265. The yarding in the fat cattle section showed a slight increase on the number forward a week ago. There was no outside competition and as a consequence prices were easier by about £1 a head for good quality, while unfinished lots were back from £1 to £2 a head Prime heavy-weight bullocks made up to £2o 15s, heavv-weight bullocks from £lB to £2l, prime' handy weights from £l4 to £l7 with light and unfinished from £lO 10s to £l2. Prime heavy heifers made up to £l6 7s 6d, prime quality from £l4 to £ls 10s. with lighter from £lO to £l2. Good heavy cows made up to £ls 15s, prime quality cows from £l2 lbs to £l4 10s. medium weight from £lO to £ll 10s, with light and unfinished down to £6.
