MAORI HILL SCHOOL
The Maori Hill School held a successful " bring-and-buy " sale on Saturday afternoon and evening. In the afternoon the sale was opened by the chairman of the School Committee (Mr J. M. Patrick), who welcomed parents and friends to the sale and expressed thanks and appreciation of the interest taken by them in the school as shown by the donations of cakes, produce, and sweets and the large sale of tickets. In the evening, an excellent programme was submitted by the school children, the main items being class singing and songs by the school choir. Individual items were given by Betsy Munro, Lorna Patrick, and Billy Chambers. At the conclusion of the concert the various stalls were again open for the sale of goods, and the takings for the day reached the gratifying total of £69
