THE SHARE MARKET DUNEDIN STOCK EXCHANGE VALUES REMAIN FIRM The demand for long-term bonds and stocks was again well maintained on the Dunedin Stock Exchange yesterday, but there were no sellers in the market. The chief centres of interest were m the miscellaneous section. Broken Hills, which sold at £2 6s, were prominent, together with preferred D.I.C. shares, which sold firmly at £1 3s 9d, and G. J. Coles, which were higher at £3 6s Sd (buyer) and £3 10s (seller). Mac Duffs. ordinaries, were in keen demand, buyers raising their bid to 9s 6d. and New Zealand Drug, rights, again firmed to £1 6s Gd. After a sale at that figure, the shares continued in demand. There was a close market for New Zealand Breweries at £1 17s 6d (buyer) and £ I 15s (seller). The bid for Carltons improved to £3 2s without gaining any response. Several lines in the Australian mining section were well supported, but no business resulted. YESTERDAY’S SALES DUNEDIN Sales Reported £ s. d.
