IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS Advice was received by a meeting of the Otago Education Board yesterday from the Department of Education that a grant of half the cost of material and the foreman’s wages for concrete work and the whole cost of wages under scheme No. 13 was available for work to be done at the For* bury School. The secretary (Mr G. W Carrington) reported that the total cost would be about £7OO. and that the cost to the board would be about £350. Advice was received also or grants for work at the Totara, Green Island and Ravensbourne Schools. A letter from the department expressed regret that the need for every action to conserve petrol prevented approval of the consolidation of the Galloway School.
