RHODES TRUST

THIS YEAR'S SCHOLARSHIPS WELLINGTON NOMINATIONS (Per United Press Association) WELLINGTON, Sept. i 7 The Victoria University Collegi. nominations for the Rhodes scholarships were decided by the Professorial Board to-day as follows: Mr Norman Andrew Morrison, ai present a pilot officer engaged in instructional duties at Wigram, and Mr Ronald John Corkill, a member oC the staff of the Correspondence School, Wellington. Mr Morrison, LL.B., is 24 years of age. and is sitting for his LL.M. degree this year. Mr Corkili, 8.A., Dip. of Education, is 24 years of age, and is sitting for honours in English this year. Whether the New Zealand scholars will go to Oxford next year is still uncertain. The Rhodes trustees have authorised the selection of the 1941 scholars, but have reserved the rignt not to take them to Oxford if the circumstances do not warrant it.
