"NINOTCHKA"
Once again Ernst Lubitsch has achieved a sensation in the sphere of film entertainment. His latest work, "Ninotchka," which will be shown at the Regent Theatre on Friday, presents Greta Garbo in the role of a comedienne. None but Lubitsch would have had the courage to attempt such a revolutionary idea; none but Lubitsch could have pulled off such a master stroke successfully, and Garbo responds brilliantly as only an artist such as she is could do. " Ninotchka " tells an intriguing romantic story in which there is much good-humoured satire at the expense of the Soviet system. The dialogue is exceptionally witty, and the acting delightful. The pre-sensation is expert and polished, and the film abounds in clever directional touches. It should delight the star's following and discriminating picture-goers generally.
