WRESTLING

McCREADY v. KATAN The Otago Wrestling Association has secured the McCready—Katan contest for the British Empire championship. The match will be staged in the Town Hall next Tuesday night, This is, perhaps, the most important wrestling contest to be staged in Dunedin as the season is fast drawing to a close and the question of who takes the British Empire title back to Canada is at issue. McCready will be seen in an entirely new role, as on the previous occasion on which an Empire contest was held in Dunedin some four years ago. McCready was defending his title, a much more advantageous position than that of a man endeavouring to win it back Of all the overseas wrestlers 1o come to New Zealand. McCready has established himself as the foremost favourite with the public, but Katan has proved himself worthy of the title in every respect.
