QUEEN CARNIVAL
NAVY QUEEN ACTIVITIES MOCK COURT ON FRIDAY In the interests of the Navy, Queen (Miss Jessie McLennah) I 'a mannequin parade was held yesterday-: --by the Savoy and the: D.I.C. The parade will be repeated in the Savoy Jo-day and to-morrow. '..;■. ' /';"; £>£•',:,'• : ;. Mock Court Friday will be a special Navy Queen Day and the principal event will be the holding of a mock court, at which citizens will be fined according to their standing in the community. Already "summonses" have been issued, and the " guilty " persons will be arraigned before the "Magistrate." One of the warrants of arrest has been served on the chairman of the Army Queen Committee (Mr G. W. Lane). Another feature of Friday's proceedings will be the laying of a copper trail along Princes and George streets. Copper trails in the past have proved that it does not take a very great distance of pennies to make £l. ... w. Auction Sale . The Navy Queen Committee has made arrangements to hold a monster auction sale in the near future, arid donations of tables,: chairs, bicycles, and tools—intact, anything that might be sold at such a sale—willrbe gratefully received.
