Mr Crosby Morris returned to Dunedin by the express yesterday afternoon.

A motion of sympathy with the patron, Mr R. McLean, in his illness was passed at the annual meeting of the Grange Cricket Club last night

Messrs C. Stanley Smith, W Easton and W. R Sinclair left by the express yesterday, for Wellington to attend meetings of the Newspaper Proprietors' Association. ■

Reference to the death during the year of Mr R- G, Hudson, who, had been a vice-president for more than 30 years, was made at the annual meeting of the Grange Cricket Club last night. The president, Mr O. G. Stevens, said Mr Hudson had been a loyal and generous supporter of the club, and a motion of .sympathy with the relatives was adopted.

The following passengers arrived by the plane from the north yesterday:— Mr J K. Crawford and Mr B. Van Stavern from Wellington. Mrs N. McGregor and infant and Miss M. Ewen from Auckland, Mrs A. J. Hinton and Mr S. Jones from Christchurch Mr Warwick E. C. Gregory, who for a number of years has been the local director and manager for New Zealand oi! the Port Line, was last week elected a member of the London board of directors. Mr Gregory, who went to England on a business visit in April of last year, has since the war started been actively employed in the London office of the Port Line.
