SOUTH TAIERI CHURCH

The annua) meeting of Die South Taierl Presbyterian Church was held at Berwick on September 10. the moderator, the Rev. S. C. Read, of East Taieri. occupying the chair.

The various reports of the different organisations of the church were presented The session report showed the congregation to he in good heart and church workers keenly interested Miss Petrie and Mr Robert Shennan, both of whom were long associated with the church, had passed away during the year, and the deaths of two former ministers of the parish, the Rev. D. McColl and the Rev W. Grundy, had also occurred. The financial statement showed a credit balance. Reports of the Sunday schools. Bible class, P.W.M.U., and Guilds were also given. The Rev. D. N McKenzie, of West Taieri, gave an address on " Fearfulness," and much-appreciated items were given by Mr Watt (violin solo), Mrs Douglas and Mr Townrow (vocal solos), and Mrs Craigie and Mrs Spencer (recitations) Eulogistic reference was made to the work being done by the home missionary Mr H. S. Manson, and Mrs Manson. in the parish, and their interest in the welfare of the people
