ANNUAL MEETING The annual meeting of the Kaikorai Cricket Club was held in the Bishopscourt pavilion last night, Mr R. G, Fergusson presiding over a fair attendance of members Adoption of Report Moving the adoption of the annual report and balance Sheet, the president said that although the club’s teams had not met with any marked success in the various competitions, they had played the game in a sporting spirit, which was the mam thing, whether they won or lost He urged senior members to give all the assistance they could to the boys' teams, as it tvas to the younger members tbaf the club looked for its future seniors. Mr J. H. Kerr seconded the motion and said that although the club’s credit balance of £3 4s 6d was small, it had invested in a large amount of valuable material during the season. The report was adopted. Election of Officers The following office-bearers were elected for the ensuing year:—Patron, Mr Ar-

McHardy, sen.; secretary and treasurer, Mr A, J. Shanks: club captain. Mr W. Boock; deputy club captain, Mr R, Jaffray; auditor, Mr J. M. Hood; custodians, Messrs A. Milburn and C. Welham; delegate to Sports Protection Association, Mr U. W. Wilkinson: delegates to the Otago Cricket Association —Messrs A. Holdsn, W Boock and E. Rennick; committee—Messrs E Rennick, C. Welham, G. McGregor, A Smales, W. Davie, R. McHardy. A. Austin G. Ramsay and A. Milburn: temporary Selection Committee—Messrs W. Boock, R. Jaffray and C. Welham; delegate to the Otago Boys’ Cricket Association. Mr R. G Fergusson, Club Trophies The Freeman T ophy for the most outstanding member of the Club was presented to Mr G. McGregor. The Walter Strang Bat for the most Improved junior went to L. Watt. The Arthur Barnett Trophy for the best performance in the junior grades was awarded to J. Fergusson. One-day Matches The proposal that during the coming season one-day matches should be played was briefly discussed, the majority of the members expressing approval of the proposal, which they said would give players who were in territorial camps near Dunedin during the season an opportunity to have an occasional game. It was decided to instruct the delegates to the O.C.A to support the proposal. The delegates were also Instructed to urge the association to drop the endowment scheme in the meantime. General It was decided to invite the Kaitangata Club to play a friendly match at Dunedin on Labour Day. The club’s opening day was set down for October 5. SELF-HELP CO-OP. CLUB The annual meeting of the Self Help Co-op. Cricket Club was held in the National Distributors, Ltd., office last week. The president (Mr W C. Whitworth) was in the chair. The chairman congratulated members on completing a successful year, both socially and financially. He said that on account of the war the club had lost some of its members, but thought it advisable to cany on in the interest of the younger players. It was decided that members engaged in military duties, either overseas or within New Zealand, should be made honorary members. The election of officers resulted as follows:—Patron, Mr B.
