SOUTH-WESTERLY CHANGE TO-NIGHT „ Forecast for Otago.—The. following official weather forecast for Otago. covering the ensuing 24 hours, was issued at 5 p.m. yesterday by the Meteorological Office in Wellington:— Moderate . to strong northerly winds, changing to south-westerlies daring to-night. Weather fine at first, but Mattered rain accompany? tag the: south-westerly change. Temperatures mild. Seas moderate. . Dominion Forecast.—The anti-cyclone over New Zealand is losing intensity and is beginning to move towards the north-east. An extensive depression is located in .the south-west of the Tasman Sea. Weather fair to fine at first, but scattered rain developing during the day. in Southland and Westland, and latgr extending as far north as South Canterbury. Temperatures mild In the south.' moderate in the north. Weather in Dunedin: The sun shone from a cloudless sky .yesterday arid conditions were mild and) pleasant. There was a: light breeze from the north-east, but this fell away to calm in the evening. .The maximum temperature was 60 degrees and the barometer fell sharply to 30.12 inches (1020 millibars) at midnight. Barometer, inches and millibars: 8 a.m, 30.40 (1029); noon, 30.32 (1027); « .p.m., 30.20 (1023); midnight, 30.12 (1020). Thermometer: 8 a.m.. 48deg; noon, 57deg; 6 p.m, 50deg; midnight. 50deg.
