Ministerial A visit to the east coast districts of the North Island will be made next week by the Prime Minister (Mr P. Fraser) who will leave Wellington for Gisborne either on Monday afternoon or early on Tuesday morning. He is due to arrive at Gisborne on Tuesday afternoon and will remain there till Thursday morning His principal engagement will be the official opening of the new intermediate school which is alreadv in occupation. Before returning to Wellington about the end of the week the Prime Minister will open another new school in Wairoa. Mr Justice Kennedy will leave this morning for Wellington to attend a sitting of the Court of Appeal. At the annual conference of the New Zealand Police Association, held in Wellington the following officers were elected:—President. Mr J. B. Young: vice-president. Mr W. R. Murray; management Committee—Messrs W. H. Andrews A. C. Davis. F. H. Healey. J. W McHolm. C. S. Rouxel, C. E. Tanner. J. Tither. S. Williams and one further member to be added. The appointment of Mr J. Meltzer as permanent general secretary was confirmed bv the conference. Passengers who arrived by the northbound plane yesterday were Mr F. Reeve for Wellington and Mr F. H Caldwell for Palmerston North. Passengers by the south-bound airliner were Miss M. Gibbs, Mrs B. Norton Miss Braithwaite and infant. Miss K. Walker. Mr R. T. Griffith and Mr W. A. Fowkes from Wellington. Mr R. Roxburgh from Auckland, and Mr H. G. Chapman and Mr E. V. West from Christchurch.
