CAMP COURT MARTIAL
SERIOUS CHARGES AGAINST SERVICEMEN ALLEGED ATTACK ON OFFICER (Per United Press Association)* AUCKLAND, Sept. 12. Serious charges were brought against two soldiers and one member of the Royal New Zealand Air Force at a court martial at Papakura camp today. as the result of incidents alleged to have occurred while the accused were in the isolation hospital •at the camp on August 15. The accused were Aircraftman (first class) R. G.’Walker, Gunner J. Croft, New. Zealand Artillery, and Private A. F. Johnson, Auckland Battalion. The men, were charged jointly with using violence to, their superior officer, creating disorder to the : prejudice of good order and military discipline, striking the person in whose custody they were placed,- and committing the civil offence of assault.. Walker was also charged separately with' wilfully damaging public property by setting a coalbox alight, and Johnson was charged with using insubordinate language to h|s superior officer. After the decision of the court martial has been confirmed and promulgated it will be posted in routine orders.
